A Planting of the Lord

I have never grown an olive tree before, but apparently the people of the Bible were very familiar with the process out there in the Middle East. There are only a few regions in the U.S. where olives can grow. They are a subtropical plant that need mild winters and long dry summers. The cold temperature is just enough to get the tree to slow down into a semi dormant state and signals the tree to start getting ready to flower in the spring.

So here we are, "trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord." God is the ultimate husbandman. He knows us, knows our roots, our soil, what will stimulate us to make us grow and flower and produce fruit. He exposes us to the the elements to bring about changes in our lives that will prosper us and not harm us.

May the servants of God ask him for the wisdom of Solomon in order to know how to care for the people of God He places in our lives. What a mighty God and gracious King we serve!

We celebrated one year of Hannam Zumba with a bang! There was food, prizes, and different instructors  kicking it Z-style! What a blast!

Sweetheart Banquet

A beautiful way to spend Valentines' Day! With our church family and friends! What a great time hanging out with these wonderful people who are sharing this adventure called Korea with us! These pictures were from Danielle Ashley Photography. So lovely!

We even played our version of "The Newlywed Game" :-)

What a lovely event! Beautifully done by the couple on the right. :-) We love you, Angie and Willie!

Reflections

Last month was full of many challenges and successes. Living in Korea continues to be an emotional roller coaster, but it helps me to grow and lean on God and my family more. I grow more appreciative of these two wonderful people as we journey in our new adventure together. :-)

Carolyn is full of energy and excitement. She loves her new home and helps me to delight in the little things here like trips to Kraze Burger (her new fav place to eat), children's musicals, playing with friends, and trips to the library. Her fashion taste continue to astound me as she takes pieces that I wouldn't dream of putting together and makes it work. She delights my heart in so many ways just by being herself.

And can I tell you how much I love this man? It has been so much fun reflecting on 10 years of dating, courtship, and marriage with this great guy. This time ten years ago we had our first date. He had to push  me in a wheel chair down the Killeen Mall! Through every struggle emotionally, physically, or spiritually he has been there to hold me, pray with me, laugh with me, and support me. I couldn't ask for a better best friend.

I'm so thankful God gave these wonderful people to me!
